Hi! My name is Beulah and I am a 4-5 month old Catahoula Leopard Dog. You may be asking “what is that?” or “why is she on a lab and giant breed rescue site?” Well, you see, I was in a shelter and my foster mommy saw my picture and was convinced that I was a great dane puppy. She got the OK to go and pick me up and bring me home and soon discovered that many people weren’t as convinced as she was about my breed. After lots of research and a bit of denial; she has finally decided to grudgingly admit that I am not a great dane after all! I exhibit a lot of the traits that are loved about great danes, which is why it was so hard for her to “see the light”. She told me that she stands behind her decision to rescue me and I will still be available for adoption through ALGBR until I get a great home. I for one, am glad that she made the mistake, because it very possibly saved my life! My adoption fee will be the same as a lab puppy’s would be. Beulah is a 4-5 month old Catahoula Leopard Dog. She is a beautiful Merle and White and has the most strikingly beautiful blue eyes that you will ever see! She weighs about 30 lbs and has a very short and tight coat that is easy to groom. She is affectionate and very eager to please and highly trainable. She has a red special needs heart on her bio because she is deaf. It is a genetic condition that is common in her breed. She has been eagerly learning hand signals in her foster home and is also being trained with a vibration collar for recall at a distance with a special collar that was generously donated by one of our wonderful facebook fans. She will come with her collar, and lots of training tips, along with a complimentary training session with a professional trainer. She already knows the commands “sit” “wait” “down” “no” and “come” and we are working on many more. She is crate trained and being potty trained in foster. She has a fantastic temperament and gets along with everyone she meets, including kids, cats and other dogs. She walks well on a leash and enjoys fetching balls too! She will make a wonderful addition to a great family. If you are interested in meeting Beulah, please let your home visit representative know.
