Brogan
Hi, my name is Brogan. I am beautiful
Chocolate Newfoundland-Mix of about
3-4 years old.  I have the wonderfully calm
and gentle nature of a Newfoundland, but
I am much smaller (about the size of an
average male Lab).  I have a short hair cut
right now, but my extremely soft fluffy
fur will be growing back in soon.  I am
very sweet and submissive and love to
be cuddled and pet.

When I came to ALGBR I had and x-ray that showed that I have a plate in my
rear left leg.  This means that at one point I had a fracture that was lovingly
repaired.  I am sometimes a little slow to get up from a laying position, but
once I am up you can’t really notice any problems.  I am able to walk and run
just fine!

I like to go on walks, and am learning leash manners very quickly.  I am a
pretty low energy guy, and prefer a short walk or two and lots of time to
cuddle up on the carpet/dog bed and hang out.  I am currently learning some
basic obedience and have mastered “sit” very quickly.  I want to please you,
and I love to hear those precious words “good boy!”

I took my first trip to the dog park with my foster mom today, and it was
really fun.  I was a little worried about the dogs running up to greet me at
first, but I learned very quickly that they just wanted to be my friends!  I am
thinking that I may take up chasing a ball, but haven’t quite figured out how
to go for it yet.  I was watching the ball chasing dogs with interest though,
and started to run with them for it a time or two.  I just didn’t know what to do
when I got there!  With a few more trips to the dog park my foster mom says
that she thinks I will figure it out.

I appear to be housebroken, although I haven’t been left alone in the house
outside of my crate.  My foster mom makes sure that I am offered the
backyard often to prevent any mistakes, and so far so good!  I am crate
trained and go into the crate without any complaints.  I am very quiet in my
crate and the only time my foster mom has heard my bark is when she was
rattling the keys in the door when she got home.  I was excited that she was
finally home!

I am looking for a family that will love me forever and make me feel safe
again, is it you?
