Rex is a great 8 month old yellow lab. He is an active boy. He loves to play outside, fetch (although he doesn't always bring it back), play in the dog pool, and just hang out with us. He is very well trained. It is clear he went through some training and knows commands like: Sit, Stay, Lay down, Shake and maybe roll over. He loves to work for food. Rex traveled very well in the car and after some initial excitement he calmed down and relaxed on the drive.
He is great with other dogs. He might be a bit much for younger children because of his excitement He is great about going outside to do his business right away. He sleeps through the night and doesn't bark or whine in his crate. He's a great eater but watch out for some wet kisses after he's been drinking! :)
He is house trained and crate trained. Due to previous long hours in the crate he does not like to get in without some coaxing or using a treat. He doesn't seem to be a counter surfer or a begger for food. He has not gotten in the garbage or eaten clothes or shoes. He seems to be a fairly well grown up 'puppy'. He loves nylabones, rope toys, balls and treats. He is not much of a barker.
He will make a great addition to your family Treats are a great way to gain his confidence to start. Contact your HV volunteer to set up a meeting with
Rex!
