Rocky
Rocky (aka: Rock) is a 4 year old yellow lab
boy. He has a short and stocky build
weighing in at close to 80lbs with a beautiful
block head.

There are two main things you need to
know about Rock.  First we would like to
share what Rock is like:

He has the most loving and wonderful
personality and is friendly to everyone. He
is obedience trained, house trained, crate trained and walks well on a leash
with some reminding. He is mindful of young children, and will not knock into
them or jump up. He is a great “kids dog” because he is a lot of fun, but he is
also careful with them. He loves to play fetch and will bring the ball back over
and over until you don’t want to play anymore! He will lay the ball in your lap
and look up at you with a cute “please” until you decide that you weren’t done
playing ball after all! He will also fetch the Frisbee and even rope toys!

He loves to swim and will jump right in the pool if you let him. He doesn’t care
how cold it is!  He gets along with other dogs and ignores the cat in his foster
home.

Secondly, we have to mention that Rocky is a special medical needs boy:
When Rocky came to ALGBR he had obvious signs of allergies: black skin,
missing hair, and ear infections. We were also told that he has a seizure
disorder which is managed with medication. Upon his arrival he had extensive
testing done to rule out any possibilities of underlying illnesses. He has
received a clean bill of health, aside from his allergies and need for seizure
meds. He is on an inexpensive medication to prevent him from having
seizures. It is important that he receives his medicine twice a day to keep him
healthy. He is currently being treated for his allergies.  We feel that with time,
quality food and some allergy medication, we will get him feeling much better
soon. He has some hair loss on his legs from being so itchy, but as time goes
on and his allergies are brought under control he will once again have a
beautiful coat!

We are so grateful to have public support that allows us to take in special dogs
like Rock that need extra care. The testing involved in his care has come at a
great financial cost to us and we are asking for your help with donations to
cover his extra medical expenses. If you can find it in your heart to make a
small donation on his behalf you can send it to us at:
