The Seniors for Seniors program is designed to help place our senior dogs with senior adopters at a reduced cost of $200. This will give ALGBR the opportunity to intake more senior dogs and to place them in loving homes as pets to seniors. These dogs will not be considered service or assistance dogs, just pets.
In order to qualify for this plan:
The dog must be 8 years or older.
The adopter must be 62 years or older and be capable of caring for the dog.
The senior dogs will have all the vaccinations, blood tests, etc that every other dog coming through ALGBR will have. The senior person looking to adopt the dog must be the person completing the application and signing all the necessary paperwork. The usual home visit will be completed. The senior adopting the dog may live in a household with children and their families, but they themselves must be capable of caring for the dog.
