Adoption Fees

(Prices effective January 1, 2019)

Adoption fees range from $365 to $625 depending on the age and breed of the rescue you are adopting.

Fees are clearly shown below each dog's descriptive listing.

The ADOPTION APPLICATION can also be downloaded by clicking the PDF version. Once selected, you can either print the application or save it to your computer. You can submit the application electronically by using the SUBMIT button or emailing it to homevisits@azlabsandgiants.org.

Complete all the information on the application. Any missing information may slow down the process. Once we have received your application, you will be contacted within 48 hours. Your application will then be assigned to a volunteer that will schedule a home visit.

The Home Visit allows us to get a better understanding of your family and your lifestyle so you meet dogs that fit your family. All members of your family must be present for the home visit. During the home visit, you will learn more about our adoption process and our available dogs. If we currently do not have a dog that fits your requirements, we will have you on our database for when the right dog comes along. Upon approval, the home visit volunteer will assist you in meeting our dogs and the adoption process.

The dog meetings are coordinated between your volunteer, the foster home, and your family. As we get new dogs in, we match them to adopters on our database based on the criteria you have given us on your application and during the home visit. Criteria such as color, age, sex, and activity level will determine if you are matched to the dog. When we have multiple adopters on the matchup list the foster home will contact adopters in order by their application date. The longer you are on the database, the higher you will be on any matchup list. When you are scheduled to meet a dog you will need to include all members of your family including any dogs you have at the meeting. It is important that all family members as well as any dogs get along with our foster dog. These meetings are a way to see if the dog is a good fit for your family as well as for the dog. Once you have met the dog, you can either adopt the dog during the meeting or take 24 hours to make your decision. You will need to contact the foster home with your decision, otherwise, the foster home will contact the next family 24 hours after you meet the dog.

The Adoption Process will require you to bring a collar, leash, and id tag (for the collar) so you can take your new dog home. An adoption agreement will be completed and you will receive all the medical and vaccination information. The adoption fee can be paid by cash or check.

The adoption process is simple. The first step is to complete the adoption application. Our dogs are all in foster homes, so you will need to be an approved adopter before meeting any of our dogs. We try and list all available information on our rescues in their individual biographies. Any further information can be discussed once you are an approved adopter.

The Adoption Fees vary depending on the age and breed of dog you are adopting. The fee covers the cost of spay/neuter, vet check, heartworm test, microchip, 5 in 1 vaccination, you and Bordatella vaccination. Adoption fees are paid at the time of adoption with cash or check. We are a non-profit organization and all our fees go back into the care and cost of intaking more rescues.
