Meet Star! We rescued Star from the shelter when her sister was adopted and she was left behind to fend for herself. Even though she is a lab mix, we just couldn’t leave her there. She was very frightened and was placed on the euthanasia list because of her fear.  Arizona shelters have so many dogs needing homes and they are so overcrowded that dogs are euthanized just because they are scared.

Star is a 1 ½ year old petite (under 50 lb.) yellow female lab mix who appears to be housebroken. She is very good in a crate and likes to ride in the car. She is good with larger (50lb and over), non-dominate dogs with proper introduction. She is too interested in smaller dogs. We don’t think Star was ever socialized with any dogs except her sister. Over time, and with proper introductions, she possibly could be good with all dogs. Star has been thru a lot in the last few days and she is still showing some stress. We will post more about her as she settles in and becomes comfortable. In her photos, it looks like Star has something wrong with her right eye. It is perfectly normal as it’s just the coloring. Her face, including her skin, is very white there.  If you are interested in meeting Star and have already had your home visit, please contact your home visit person.
